with a butterfly:
I used my new Hero Arts butterfly die for this version of the Flutterby Wednesday sketch challenge. Definitely can't miss seeing this big beauty!
Here is a close-up of the butterfly to show that I sprayed Heirloom Gold over it to add a bit of pizzazz to the otherwise plain paper. The papers are from the Basic Gray True Love 6 x 6 paper pad.
Whew! I am just getting this in before the deadline at Flutterby Butterfly.
Thanks for visiting - I love reading your comments!

monochromatic. . . .
can be very pretty if there is enough contrast and texture. Not sure if I achieved this, but here is my card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. I am also submitting this card to two other challenges linked at the end of this post.
Papers are from a couple of different paper pads. The sentiment is from Hero Arts, as are the pretty gems. I used a Fiskars border punch to add a bit of interest to the center piece.
Here is the sketch I used from the Flutterby Wednesday weekly challenge:
EDIT: Alas, I didn't even use a BUTTERFLY for this card, which is always a must have for these challenges. So, I won't be submitting this card there!!! (boohoo) But. . .
I will send this over to the Word Art Wednesday challenge, where the theme is always anything goes as long as you use some encouraging words on your card.
Thanks for stopping by!

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
Flutterby Wednesday anything with wings.
Die Cut Divas
Here is my card:
I used one die cut and two punches for this card. The sentiment is from Hero Arts and the background stamp is a cover-a-card from Impression Obsession.
Have a wonderful day!

dessert. . . .
for the Week 56 Casology challenge:
almost didn't get this posted in time. The cupcake is an older one from Hero Arts. The small ink splats are from the new Hero Arts brush strokes. I added some liquid pearls for icing and one sequin. Distress inks were used for the splats. Sentiment is from Annette Allen Watkins.
Thanks for visiting my blog! I truly appreciate each and every comment.

just playing. . . .
around some more with my new Hero Arts stamps. I love the new Remember stamp set from the Stamp your Story line and decided to use it once again for this card:
The inks used are cornflower blue and soft pool. I love the GOLD embossing, too, even though it doesn't look quite as pretty here as it does in person! I am going to enter this in the Hero Arts current challenge. To be perfectly honest, I have been inspired by so many of the gals on the Hero Arts Flickr group who have made such beautiful cards with this set. I don't want to name any one in particular, because there are a plethora of gorgeous creations there.
Have a great weekend!
Edit: I went to the Hero Arts contest page (you do not enter this contest on the Flickr page) and uploaded my card. Then, I read the rules for this contest. You must be inspired by specific things that are listed there: such as their own card gallery, their own techniques, their catalog, etc. So, I guess my card won't qualify for the contest. :) But it doesn't end until September and you can enter as many cards as you like. So, maybe I will try again. Toodles!

sending hugs. . . .
to my 12-year-old grandson, who recently broke his ankle.
This cute owl from Hero Arts makes me smile and I hope Ethan will like this card. The background, sentiment and black opal gems I used for the eyes are also from Hero Arts.
Linking this up to Word Art Wednesday, where the challenge is always "anything goes" and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge which is also "anything goes".
Have a great day!

new stamps. . . .
are always fun to get, aren't they? This week I received a box from Hero Arts with lots of goodies in it from my most recent publications. I wanted to use the Remember set right away:
There are so many pretty stamps in this set. And, I ordered several of the mid-tone ink cube set, so I was happy to play with them. Can I tell you how much I LOVE the cornflower blue ink that I used on this card?? It is just beautiful and I know I am going to want the full size pad of this color. I also used the pale tomato pad - a soft coral/pink shade.
Since I am pretty much just experimenting with these new stamps, this is a good card to enter in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge which is anything goes.
Have a great evening!
