KISSING TECHNIQUE CARD

Using the Poppy Background (Hero Arts CG140) and the Starburst Lace (Hero Arts S5317) I created this card with the kissing technique:

I inked the poppies with broken china (Ranger distress inks) and the starburst with Versafine olympia green and then kissed them together.  Stamped on a piece of white cardstock.  The sentiment (Hero Arts CL493 Live Life) was stamped in Versafine onyx black.  Layered this piece to black cardstock.  On a larger white cardstock, I stamped the starburst three times with the green ink and layered this to black again.  Layered everything to a turquoise base card.  Small turquoise gems were added to the centers of the poppies and to the outside edges of the bottom layer, too.

FRIENDSHIP CARD

A card for one of my dearest friends - we will be having lunch together this week, so I plan to give this to her then.

I like the way the patterned paper echos the Hero Arts dotted flowers.  I stamped the three flowers on pink patterned paper, cut out and layered with dimensional foam squares.  I wanted the flower to have the spotlight here, so I kept everything else black and white.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts, as are the pearls and lace.  This flower set is going to be another one that will be used many times over.

Thanks for stopping by.

BIRTHDAY CARD

Here is a birthday card I made for my youngest grandaughter, Miya.  (pronounced me'-a)  She is going to be seven in March and is part Asian.  I love these Hero Arts Little Japanese Doll stamps.  I chose the one with long hair because Miya's hair is long, too.

The large scalloped nesties made for pretty frames around the image which I colored with Prismacolor pencils and added some Stickles platinum glitter.  A Prima faux flower with gem adorns her hair.  Red stickles around the edge of one nestie and platinum around the other.  The background stamp is from Magenta and the ribbon was sent to me in an exchange.  I then mounted it all on some patterned paper which is attached to a top folded white card.

This is my first time posting a photo of a card; it didn't turn out too badly for my first try.  There isn't any sun today, so I'm sure it would have been better to wait for better light to take the picture.

Thanks for visiting!

CLASSIC BLOOM

Over the weekend I bought this stamp and wanted to play with it today.

My first thought was to color it with my watercolor crayons.  Then I went back over the whole flower with a metallic watercolor wash.  I added lots of little black pearls in the center.

The background started out as white cardstock which I colored with Ranger Distress inks.  I used mustard seed and rusty hinge pads to color the whole piece and then stamped the flower with brushed corduroy.  Stamped the sentiment in dark brown ink.  A little dark brown ink around the edges; then layered to brown cardstock.

The patterned paper strip is from K & Company, the border punch from Martha Stewart.  Tied a brown grosgrain ribbon around the whole thing and placed on a yellow base card.  Popped the flower up with some adhesive squares.

I can see that this stamp will be very versatile and fun to use in a lot of ways!

NEW BLOG!

I've been thinking about starting another blog for awhile to have a place for cards, card swaps, card challenges - well just anything pertaining to cards and preferably rubber stamped ones!

Here is a happy little bird from Hero Arts.  I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils, added some crystals for sparkle and cut into a scalloped circle which I mounted on a plain circle.  The background of the card is a cover-a-card design from Impression Obsession.  Sentiment is an old one from Hero Arts as are the tiny borders in the corners.

Am hoping to meet some new (and old) friends here at Morning Glory Card Studio!  I am still a novice at this computer stuff, so bear with me:)))

Happy stamping!
