not quite sure. . . .

if this card meets the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays or not:

Sure hope it will fit the bill:

I think the three elements (die cut, gems and sentiment) are in the middle third of the card.  So, I'm going with it!
The die is from Memory Box.  The sentiment is Penny Black.  I smooshed distress inks on my craft sheet to make the background which shows through the die cut.  Then I spritzed it with Ranger's heirloom gold spray and it is SO pretty IRL.

Have a wonderful weekend!

seize the sketch. . . .

for challenge #18:

Here is my card:

I reversed the sketch a bit for this card.  The stamp is from Inkadinkadoo and the little bee is from Memory Box (I think).  Sentiment is from Hero Arts.  There is some gold glitter paper behind the black outline of the bee that doesn't show up much at all in this photo.  Much prettier in real life.

Can't believe tomorrow is Saturday already!  The days just fly by, don't they?  Have a great weekend.

animal antics. . . .

is the theme this week at Simon Says Stamp and they are featuring Stampendous products:

Stampendous now sells the House Mouse line and this cute little image makes me smile.  He looks so cute tucked into the tulip, doesn't he?

Also sending this over to Word Art Wednesday for their anything goes challenge.

I hope every one had a wonderful Easter and that spring is blossoming all around you!!

use a butterfly. . . .

for the current challenge at The Card Concept.

It's difficult for me to decide which category to put this in, but I am hoping my card will fit into their clean and layered category:

I am attempting to put a small (teeny) dent in my patterned paper stash.  These paper are from a Lost and Found Two 6x6 pad.  I stamped half of the Penny Black butterfly die with a Magenta flower image and popped it up on a swirl of gold thread.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.  Black gems from Michael's.  There are three small dots of gold Stickles in the centers of the flowers but the lighting on this rainy day doesn't allow them to show.  Here's a close-up:

Have a good weekend.

a touch of turquoise. . . .

is the theme for this week's Less is More challenge.

Here is my card:

I used a Simon Says Stamp flower from the Thinking of You set to make an allover background on which to stamp the Hero Arts butterfly.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts also.  some turquoise sequins were added.

Hope you day is a good one.

a birthday gift. . . .

for another card to enter in the SSS challenge this week:

This time I used the Tim Holtz blueprint present to make my card.  I colored the package itself with an orange Memento marker and stamped the ribbon/bow on patterned paper and cut it out.  After I paper pieced the bow to the card, I added stardust Stickles glitter and it is very glittery.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts and I colored it in with the orange marker and then added more Stickles.

Have a great day!

EDIT:  tried linking this yesterday to the challenge and it was closed.  It is open now and I'm sending it in.  :)

balloon birthday. . . .

for my son-in-law.

The blueprint series from Tim Holtz is a good way to get a masculine feel for a card.  I paper pieced the balloon on kraft cardstock and used my Sakura stardust pen to add some glitz to it and the diamonds in the patterned paper.  The patterned paper on either side adds some interest and I splattered a bit of black ink.

Entering this in the SSS birthday celebration challenge and hope to get another one in before the deadline.  Time gets away from me - but it sure would be nice to win this week's $100 prize, wouldn't it?

Thanks for visiting.

good egg. . . .

is the challenge at Cas-ual Fridays this week.

Here is my card:

I decided to use Spellbinders dies for the ovals.  Also channeling my inner Virginia by using some gold thread behind the dies.  :)  The sentiment is from Stampendous.

Enjoy your day!

the March CCC. . . .

hosted by Deborah Nolan has now been revealed.  Here is the card I sent to Chris in Texas:

I followed the sketch that Deborah provided along with a "friendship" theme.  The flower dies and the sentiment are from Papertrey Ink and the embossing folder is Anna Griffin.  I also used a Spellbinders Parisian Accents die behind the flower.

If you would like to join in the fun for April, check out Deborah's blog for all the details!
