new stamps . . .

are always fun to play with!

This new dotted background and the fancy basics sentiments are two stamps from the Hero Arts 2013 catalog that I knew I wanted right away.  I am entering this in the Hero Arts monthly challenge to use something new

and the CAS-ual Fridays to make a card with long and short sides.

After stamping and masking off the sentiment, I used mowed grass and picked raspberry distress inks to stamp  the background twice for some color interest.  A black Sharpie pen defined the sentiment area, with two gems to embellish the card.

It isn't often that I make a one layer card - not sure that I like this one very much.

Thanks to my newest blog followers; I appreciate it!!  And thanks to all of my followers/friends for your sweet comments - you brighten my day with them!

Ah, Joy - I have been eying this background stamp. My only hesitation is that it is wood, which I hate storing. But, with the smashing way you have used it, I may change my mind. This is very cool!
