a sketch. . . .

is the challenge at Flutter by Wednesday's blog this week:

and here is my card:

I love the Graphic 45 8x8 Secret Garden paper pad which I have used for the scalloped circle.  The butterfly is an old K & Co. chipboard sticker.

Have a wonderful day!

the tag collage. . . .

stamp set from Hero Arts was recently their stamp of the week and I took advantage of it.  Lots of fun elements in this set!

I made this card for the Simon Says anything goes challenge.  I stamped the tag on some patterned paper, but the pattern in the paper is so subtle that you can barely see it.  The large flower was stamped on more pp and distressed with broken china distress ink.  The leafy branch and smaller flowers were also stamped with distress inks.  And, look at those beautiful sequins for the flower centers!!!  I know, I went overboard, didn't I?  :*)   The sentiment is also from Hero Arts.

travel. . . .

is one of my favorite things to do; would love to be planning a trip right now, wouldn't you?

Here is my card for the Simon Says challenge:

The bike and sentiment are from Stampers Anonymous and the little arrow is from the Sunnier Days clear set from Simon.  I used pumice stone and mowed lawn distress inks and the pretty lime chevron washi tape is from Michaels.

Have a great day!

imagine. . . .

is the word I chose to use for Week 40 at CASology.

Here is my card:

The word stamp is from Endless Creations - kinda' funky but I love it.  I used peacock feathers distress ink for the Hero Arts image and added, yes again, sequins!!

Have a great day!

hello . . . .

I hope your weekend will be a good one.  It is cold here, but spring is slowly making an appearance.

My card today is for two challenges:  CFC #99 and ric #34.

Some new stamps arrived yesterday from Hero Arts and I decided to use the little leafy branch for this card:

The red ink shows up more as a pink, but it is definitely red!  And, I added a red sequin - I'm lovin' those little cuties.

Thanks for visiting and welcome to my newest followers!!

stickers. . . .

are not my usual go-to for making cards.  But, I have some beautiful foil butterfly stickers that I decided to use on a card for the Flutterby Wednesday challenge which is to use a sentiment on the front of the card along with a sentiment.

The sentiment is a older one from Hero Arts but still a very nice one to send to anyone in need of a hug.  Gold embossing is so pretty and becoming very popular again (which reinforces the saying, "what goes around comes around")!!  When I started stamping - some 17 years ago or so, heat embossing was THE thing to do.  :-)

I love the lacy circles dies from Spellbinders and the gold sequins are a recent acquisition.

Have a great day!

sweet peas. . . .

grew profusely along the winding country road where I lived as a little girl.  I loved picking a bunch to give to my mom on a warm summer day.  :-)

Here is a card I made for the Timeless Tuesday challenge, which is to "frame-it":

I stamped the image repeatedly on a piece of Basic Grey patterned paper with pumice stone Distress Ink to make the background.  The focal image was colored with Memento markers and a bit of Stickles gold glitter was added.  The frame is Spellbinders Labels Ten.  I also used some washi tape and a Martha Stewart punched butterfly.

Thanks for visiting!

EDITED:  At Dawn's suggestion, I am entering this card into the Die Cut Divas challenge to use washi tape and dies.  Thanks, Dawn!!

travel. . . .

is the challenge at CASology this week.  I wasn't sure I would get a card done in time, but here it is:

Nothing fancy - just stamps and colored pencils.

Have a glorious Sunday!!

lime and black. . .

for the Less is More challenge.  I am getting this in just in the nick of time.

Since I just purchased some new washi tapes at Michaels the other day, I decided to use them for this challenge.  The newsprint owl from Hero Arts looks cute perched on top.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts, too.

TFL!

tall flowers. . . .

made shorter!  I just bought the small set of Inktense pencils (12 in the set) and wanted to try coloring with them.  This card is far from perfect (sentiment is not positioned very well, etc.), but I just want a reference of my first attempt with these pencils.  The tall flowers stamps is one of my newest acquisitions also, so I had fun playing with these items.  By mixing the limited colors together you can make other shades, like the purple and peachy hues.  Fun!

Since Simon Says is asking for spring flowers I will enter this over there.

Have a good day!

birthday wishes. . . .

for a friend.  This card will be entered in the Flutterby Wednesdays challenge to use flowers and, of course, a butterfly.  Also, for the current SSS challenge for birthdays and the Hero Arts monthly contest, Just for Her.

Here is my card:

The image and sentiment are from Hero Arts.  I used Memento markers to color the flowers and added gold Stickles.  Martha Stewart butterfly punch.  The base card was dry embossed across the bottom. The yellow cardstock is much more vibrant than this photo shows.

Thanks for visiting!

a simple sketch. . . .

for the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.
This card will also be entered in the SSS birthday challenge and the Hero Arts contest, Just for Her.

My card:

Brilliance coral ink was used for the starburst.  I also colored the seam binding with the pad.  Very simple but pretty, I think.

Enjoy your day!

mariposa. . . .

is one of the original Stampers Anonymous stamps that I purchased in the year 2000.  I decided to use it for this week's challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show, which is anything goes.

Everyone loves this theme for a challenge and there are lots of entries every time.  But, someone always wins, so it's worth a try, right?

Here is my card:

I stamped the image on Bo Bunny patterned paper.  Portions of the image were then paper pieced.  The large butterfly was stamped on another patterned paper, cut out and distressed around the edges.   Lots of Stickles platinum glitter added to it and just glued in the center and the wings elevated by shaping them a little with my fingers.  The large scallop border is from PTI and the base of the card is covered with Tim Holtz patterned paper. Some sparkly Sticko gems were also added.

Hope you are having a lovely weekend!

another birthday card. . . .

for a friend, who has already received it:

Hero Arts etched flowers and background.  The sentiment is from Stampendous and the patterned paper is from Basic Grey.  There is a lot of glitter on the flowers, which doesn't show up so much here.

I am entering this in the current SSS challenge which is birthday cards.  You might want to enter the challenge this week since SSS is celebrating their own birthday and have fabulous prizes up for grabs.  Check it out!

CASology #38. . . .

A fun challenge this week at CASology:

Here is my card:

Love this Hero Arts set and haven't used it enough. Clouds were fussy cut out of white paper and glued to the pp.  A bit of color with a Memento marker and a tiny bit of gold glitter.

Have a fabulous day!

flutterby wednesday #233. . . .

requires the use of blue, yellow and green along with a butterfly or fairy:

This is the first time I have used Faber Castell gelatos.  I scribbled the three colors on an acrylic block and then spritzed with water to make them blend and run a bit.  Then I placed white cardstock onto the block (rather than pressing the block onto the paper) and punched the butterfly from the paper.

After embossing the cuttlebug folder, I swiped Brilliance ink pads across the raised areas and got this soft and pretty background.

This card is somewhat CAS, even though I have used more color/layers than most of the CAS designers do.  Pretty simplistic, but I love how this card turned out!  I purposely did not use a sentiment on the front and will put one inside the card when I'm in need of a quick card to send out.

Check out Flutterby Wednesday's blog for lots of fluttering inspiration!

butterflies. . . .

show up a lot on my cards - along with hearts and flowers! Here is a birthday card I made for a friend:

I layered two Memory Box butterfly dies and added glitter to the lacy one. Lots of layered papers and a Hero Arts sentiment.

Have a wonderful day!
