monochromatic. . . .

can be very pretty if there is enough contrast and texture.  Not sure if I achieved this, but here is my card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  I am also submitting this card to two other challenges linked at the end of this post.

Papers are from a couple of different paper pads.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts, as are the pretty gems.  I used a Fiskars border punch to add a bit of interest to the center piece.

Here is the sketch I used from the Flutterby Wednesday weekly challenge:

EDIT:  Alas, I didn't even use a BUTTERFLY for this card, which is always a must have for these challenges.  So, I won't be submitting this card there!!! (boohoo)  But. . .

I will send this over to the Word Art Wednesday challenge, where the theme is always anything goes as long as you use some encouraging words on your card.

Thanks for stopping by!

This is a beauty Joy! I love the use of all the different patterns and you are right; it does lend a lot of texture by doing so! XX

You achieved it in spades, Joy! These papers look great together, and that sentiment font is so pleasing! So tickled to have you playing with us at the Simon Says Wednesday challenge!

This would be great for a fella, and those are always so difficult. Love the ruggedness of this and the way you used the sketch.

Perfect monochromatic card. The
gem works great for giving it added interest.
