THINK PINK. . . .

is the prompt for the Mixed Media Monthly challenge for February.

I decided to play along with a Valentine:

For this card, I used lots of different media. The background panel was created by brayering pink acrylic paint on cardstock and adding cream acrylic paint through the SSS tiny dot stencil.  A flourish stamp from Stamplorations was stamped randomly along the edges with gathered twigs distress ink.  I pressed a Delicata gold inkpad against an acrylic block, spritzed with water and then flicked it with a brush to create splatters on the background.  The edges were sponged with the distress ink.

The heart was cut from an old book page with a Spellbinders die and then sprayed with a pink Smooch spritz.  I colored Ranger's texture paste with picked raspberry distress ink and pressed it, roughly, through a Tim Holtz hearts stencil.  When dry, I brushed more watered down Delicata gold ink over the hearts, which kinda' made them look less pink.  The XO sentiment is from Hero Arts and was stamped with the same brown distress ink.  German glass glitter was glued around the edge of the heart.

After adhering all of the layers, I flicked brown ink over the whole card.  It is difficult to see the shimmer of the gold ink here, but it is very pretty IRL.

Sending this over to Simon Says Stamp for their anything goes challenge, and to Stamplorations who also has an ongoing anything goes challenge.

Thanks for visiting my blog.
