A card for three challenges: Hero Arts (flowers), Lily Pad Cards (flowers) and CFC45 (pastels and black).
I realize I may be pushing the envelope, so to speak, for CAS-ual Friday. This may not be as pastel or clean and simple as they want. But, I decided to give it a go, anyway!
The papers are from the April stamp kit of the month from Simon Says. The flower and sentiment are from Hero Arts. I used some of their tiny flowers and pearls as accents, too.
Thanks for visiting!

BLACKBIRD
The challenge for Simon Says Stamp and Show for this week is handmade backgrounds.
Just getting this in under the wire since the challenge ends at midnight tonight. My background was made with distress inks, flicked with water and stamped with swirls. After stamping the images with archival ink, the white dots were added for more accent.
Love making backgrounds!

FLOWERS
The monthly challenge at Lily Pad Cards is to use flowers. Hero Arts' theme is flowers also, so I will use this card for both sites.
I sprayed white cardstock with Tsukineko's Cherry Blossom Walnut Ink Antiquing Solution and then stamped Hero Arts simple frame on it and cut it out. The Hero Arts Fleurettes stamp fits nicely within the frame. A touch of pink and pale green Prismacolor pencils to the image is all it needed.
Thanks for stopping by.
WINNER!
First of all, I want to thank everyone who commented on my giveaway post! Also, thank you to each one who have become followers of my blog - I am honored to have you aboard!! I hope you will visit often and I will try to come by and visit you soon, too.
This morning I wrote each name on a slip of paper, folded the slips up and placed them in a candy dish:
I stirred them up a bit and pulled one out:
And, the winner is: Lucille!!!
Congratulations, Lucille, and please send me your snail mail address via e-mail (check my profile for this). I will send your package out sometime next week.
Have a wonderful weekend, gals!

CLASSIC TEA FLOWER
A friend is celebrating her birthday next week, and I think this new Hero Arts stamp is perfect for a feminine card.
I used Prismacolor pencils to color the flower and added Stickles diamond glitter. The large scallop oval dies are one of my favorite shapes from Spellbinders. Border punch from Martha Stewart. The yellow polka dot paper is from Amuse. Pearls from Hero Arts.
I am also entering this in the Hero Arts contest for this month, which is to use flowers.
If you haven't heard, I'm having a blog giveaway this week. Deadline for commenting is midnight tomorrow night (EST). Scroll down to see the post and leave a comment. Tell a friend. I've added a few more things to the pot since posting the photo!
Have a great evening!!

VIRGINIA'S VIEW #3
Isn't this just the most colorful and quirky inspiration photo that Virginia has picked for her third monthly challenge at Lily Pad Cards?? I was so drawn to the rows of colors. Here is my card:
I used just one row of several colors. The single starburst from Hero Arts looks great stamped in Brilliance inks. Three little oval buttons I found in my stash were tied with twine from the Simon Says Stamp March card kit. The sentiment is also Hero Arts.
Thanks, Virginia, for another fun challenge!

BIT 'O GREEN and CFC44
Happy St. Patrick's Day to you!!
Please scroll down if you are looking for my blog giveaway post.
Again, I am using one card for two challenges:
The challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is a 1-2-3 step one:
Use a background, use an image and use a sentiment.
And, the theme at Simon Says Stamp is to use green in honor of St. Patrick's Day.
I'm typically not a green girl, but I do like monochromatic color schemes, so this works okay for me.
Hope your day is a happy one!!! Thanks for visiting.

SIMON SAYS STAMP AND SHOW CHALLENGE
This week's challenge for Simon Says Stamp and Show is anything goes. Since the overall theme for this challenge blog is to use Tim Holtz/Wendy Vecchi type designs, all the stamps I used on this tag are from Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz.
The tag was distressed with tea dye, aged mahogany and walnut stain Distress inks. The background images were stamped using iced spruce, walnut stain and aged mahogany. I stamped the flowers and butterflies with barn door distress ink on another tag and edged with walnut stain. Then I cut them out and popped them up on the tag, adding some barn door Distress Stickles. A strip of raw silk was tied through the hole of the tag.

CFC43
This week's challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is to feature a sentiment on our card:
After looking through a lot of sentiments, I chose to use one of my all time Stampendous favorites from my early years of stamping:
The flower is one from the Simon Says March kit and the strip of patterned paper is from Teresa Collins World Traveler 6 x 6 pad.
Enjoy your weekend!

DESTINATION PARIS
Anyone who knows me knows that I have an affinity for all things Paris; especially the Eiffel Tower.
Since it's not in my travel plans in the near future :*), I thought the smiling girl from Hero Arts could be my proxy. I have given her a name - FiFi!
The papers I have used are from a 6 x 6 pad called World Traveler by Teresa Collins. The newspaper Eiffel Tower from Hero Arts is glittered up a bit with diamond Stickles.
Sure hope FiFi brings me a souvenir!

THINKING OF YOU
Love this new dot flower pattern background from Hero Arts. Decided to give Kathy's color challenge at Lily Pad Cards another try:
Used a pink that is a bit deeper than the color swatch; but Kathy does give us permission to interpret the colors in our own way. I used some white embossing and colored pencil to detail the background. The Martha Stewart butterfly punch is one of my favorites. And, the new Hero Arts Say it All sentiments are so versatile.
Thanks for stopping by.
edit: also entering this in the Hero Arts March challenge.

LIEBSTER AWARD
Judy from Judy's Card Corner surprised me with this:
My first blog award! Believe me, I was very surprised to receive it. By the way, Judy just happens to be my birthday twin; albeit quite a bit younger than me :*)
Since my experience with such awards is nil, here is what Judy related to me.
Liebster is German for "dearest". THe award is a "share-the-love" arrangement, given to inspirational bloggers with fewer than 200 followers (based on Google followers).
Here's the to-do list of any Liebster award recipient.
1. Thank the giver and link back to the blogger who gave it to you.
2. Reveal your five blog picks and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.
3. Copy and paste the award on your blog (see above)
4. Hope that those you award forward it to their favorite bloggers.
The difficult part of this is to pick just five of my favorite bloggers to send the award on its way.
There are so many gals who do such amazing things and it was hard to narrow it down to just five.
First up is Susanne from Lavender and Roses. Susanne creates the most beautifully romantic cards and is just the nicest lady, too. Please visit her blog and give her some kudos!
Next, Sheila from Color Me Happy. And, believe me, her colorful cards would make anyone happy. Her coloring techniques are superb and she chooses stamps that showcase her talents so nicely. Hop over and say "hi" to Sheila.
Sue Givens from Grammy Sue's Creations is another one of my favorite bloggers. Sue's cards are always a treat to see - love her style! Hope you will visit her blog soon, too.
Lai-Yoke from Walchow Design is my next pick for this award. Clever, classy, creative - her designs are all of these and more. You are in for a treat when you visit her blog.
Last, but not least, is Robin from Robin's Stamping Nest. One of Robin's biggest talents is creating little scenes on her cards; something I've always struggled with. She makes it look so effortless!! Stop by her blog for a visit.
So many other gals come to my mind who are deserving of this award. It was difficult to stop at just five.
Thanks, again, Judy for thinking of me!!

SHAPED CARD
Stampendous has a challenge this month to make a shaped card - anything other than a square or rectangle.
I used a Nesties label for this little gift card - it is approximately 4 x 2.75 inches. The flower stamp is from Stampendous and the sentiment is from A Muse. Colored with Prismacolor pencils, added glitter and pearls.
