so happy to be . . .

back home again!  I had a wonderful time in Colorado and now I am ready to get back to my own little world.  :-)

Since I had a few thank you cards to send, here is one I made:

This is a new (to me) woodblock stamp from Hero Arts  and it has been on my wish list for a long time.  The sentiment is an old one from Penny Black.  After masking the edges of the white panel, I used picked raspberry and salty ocean distress inks to create the background.  Some diamond Stickles were added to the tips of the images.

I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp challenge, the A Blog Named Hero challenge and the CAS-ual Fridays challenge.

The good news is that I got a new laptop for Christmas.  The bad news is I haven't yet mastered Windows 8 and all the differences there are from my OLD Windows program.  It has taken me a long time to actually get this post ready to go!  Which defeats the whole purpose of having a new computer!!!  Grrr.

Have a great day!

Hi Joy - welcome home! Love this pretty card! The mix of inks made for a beautiful lavender shade! Give yourself some time with the new computer - you'll eventually get used to it and it'll become normal for you! Hugs! :)

So gald to see you home again Joy!! Yes, new 'puters take TIME figuring out and getting used to but you'll get it in no time I'm sure. Love the CAS design of this card-so pretty! Thanks for your really lovely comment on my blog-and CONGRATS to you on being published again in Just Cards! I can honestly say that the card you had published was my fave in that issue by far-such a beautifully elegant card-great color choices too!!

Welcome home and happy new year, joy! I am so delighted to see this beautifully masked background - that is a technique that I never use and you have inspired me to give it a try. This card is so lovely - you sure haven't lost your talent during the holiday.

Welcome home, Joy. I am a bit behind seeing your post. Lovely card. I too have a new laptop but stayed with Windows 7 ... did not want to try W8 just now. See you soon.
